Joseph is the Owner/ head Professor of Meta Mixed Martial Arts, where he leads the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Bang Muay Thai Kickboxing programs. He has been working with children as an educator since 2008 and began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai/ Kickboxing in 2011.

His teaching methodology includes reinforcement-based strategies to help kids stay engaged. Joe has been training under Sensei’s Duane Ludwig and Bas Rutten’s Bang Muay Thai system since 2015, as well as Dutch Kickboxing. He is also a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Tahi Burns.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Amber, and 2 kids.

    Randy Baker has been training no-gi jiu jitsu for almost 13 years and earned his black belt at Darkside Jiu Jitsu in Houston under Victor Pozas, in the Dean Lister lineage. He currently trains at Simple Man Martial Arts under Nicky Ryan and Damien Anderson. A seasoned competitor, he is the current White Lion Promotions 155 lb champion and a veteran of both WNO and CJJ Worlds.

    As a coach, he brings a technical, detail-oriented style with a strong emphasis on competition preparation. With a game built around modern leg-lock systems and solid fundamentals, his goal at Meta Mixed Martial Arts is to help students develop reliable skills, sharpen their strategy, and build true competition readiness.

With four years of training and a decorated competition record—including victories at Midwest Finishers, Main Character, Elevate, Submission Hunter Pro, BJJ World Championship, and ADCC Austin Open (double gold)—she brings real-world experience to every class.

    As a coach, she is detail-oriented with a strong focus on competition preparation, specializing in leg locks and modern no-gi strategies. A Navy veteran, she is passionate about helping students of all levels develop strong fundamentals, technical skills, confidence, and competition readiness, and she particularly enjoys teaching kids to prepare the next generation of athletes.
